In 2026, Halloween is a Saturday. In Edgerton, that turns one night into nine days. The haunted house at the edge of town has its last two weekends on either end of the stretch. The hospital and the library fill the weekdays in between. Halloween afternoon has one firm time on it so far, and the evening still has one open question.
Here's the whole stretch, starting Friday, Oct. 23, with a few notes on how the pieces fit.

The Visit Edgerton events calendar keeps the full month in one grid. It's worth a look again closer to the date, since the weekend rows can still pick up new listings.
Forsaken Souls sets the edges of the week
Forsaken Souls Haunted Attraction at 354 Lake Drive Rd. is open Fridays and Saturdays all October, 7 to 11 p.m. Tickets run $24 to $72. Halloween on a Saturday means the season ends on the holiday itself. That leaves four nights after this post goes up: Oct. 23, 24, 30, and 31.
If you went last year, this year isn't a repeat. The listing describes three haunted houses. Miss Fortune's Curse is an abandoned speakeasy, and the other two are new: Twisted Hollow, set in a dark witch's woods, and Carnage in the Corn. Food and beverage trucks are there every night. The venue stays open in light rain but closes for thunderstorms, so in late October it pays to check the forecast before you leave.
Those four nights give the week its shape. Everything below happens between the two Forsaken Souls weekends. It's mostly daytime or early evening, and almost all of it is free or a few dollars.
The first weekend starts with a crowded Friday night
Friday, Oct. 23 has the most going on in the whole stretch, with four listings on the Visit Edgerton calendar. The Tri-County Community Center runs Friday Night Skating from 6 to 9 p.m. for $6, skate rental included, with concessions for sale. Skating runs every Friday except when the Edgerton School District is off, and both Friday the 23rd and Friday the 30th are on the calendar.
That same night, Anchor has live music from 7 to 11 p.m. with Power Take Off and The Cattlemen, and Forsaken Souls opens at 7. Skating ends at 9 and the other two run until 11. That means a family can skate early, and the adults in the group can still catch the second half of a set or a late haunted-house slot.
Saturday the 24th has only Forsaken Souls on the calendar, so a daytime outing has room. On Sunday the 25th, the Sterling North Museum is open for tours from 1 to 4 p.m., $5 to $8. That's the restored boyhood home of the author of Rascal, the book about growing up around Edgerton that went international through a Japanese animated series. It isn't Halloween programming. It's a quiet Sunday stop between two loud weekends.
Wednesday, Oct. 28, has three events stacked into the late morning
The weekdays are quiet until Wednesday, when three events land within a few hours of each other.
The Edgerton Hospital Auxiliary holds its Fall & Halloween-Themed Bake Sale from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the hospital's main lobby and Auxiliary area, with cookies, cupcakes, pies, and more. The listing says treats are sold until they're gone and suggests coming early. So the 8 a.m. start is the part of that time window to plan around.
At 11 a.m., Edgerton Public Library at 10 Albion St. hosts Pet Ghost in a Jar, a ghost decoration craft. It runs until noon, first come, first served while supplies last. Then at noon, Healing Garden Manager Mark Dwyer gives a Lunch & Learn on spring-blooming bulbs to plant this fall. It covers picking reliable varieties, getting beds ready, and planning a spring display. You can bring your own lunch or buy one.
Put together, the late morning works as one loop: bake sale early, ghost craft at 11, bulbs at noon. And the bulb talk lands at the right time of year, since late October is when spring bulbs go in the ground.
Two days earlier, on Monday the 26th, the library holds a Family Paint Night with a watercolor tutorial for young artists. It's recommended for ages 6 and up, and every painter needs to be registered. The event is in the late afternoon, and the library's own calendar has the final time.
Thursday is the grown-up version
On Thursday, Oct. 29, the Society for Anomalous Studies presents Rock County Historical Hauntings from 6 to 7:45 p.m. The group walks through local sites with a history of reported hauntings, along with experiences its own members say they've had there.
It's local history told as ghost stories, and it falls the night before the second Forsaken Souls weekend starts. The Visit Edgerton listing doesn't give a location, so check it before heading out.
Saturday, Oct. 31, in order
Halloween itself puts the day's events in a clear order:
- 1 to 3 p.m.: Edgerton Hospital Trunk or Treat in the Edgerton Clinic parking lot, 11101 N. Sherman Road. It's free. Hospital staff and volunteers dress up and fill decorated trunks with goodies, and the hospital says to expect costumes, photos, and candy.
- Evening: the city's trick-or-treat hours, which haven't been posted for 2026. More on that below.
- 7 to 11 p.m.: Forsaken Souls, the last night of the season.
The Trunk or Treat also takes volunteers. Anyone who wants to decorate a trunk can claim a spot by emailing [email protected]. Vehicles need to be in place at least 15 minutes before 1 p.m. The hospital is also accepting donations of wrapped candy and treats through the same address.
The 1 p.m. start means the trunk-or-treat route is done well before dark. That leaves the whole evening open for whatever the city sets.
What hasn't been announced yet
The city of Edgerton's official 2026 trick-or-treat hours aren't out yet. As of mid-October, HauntedWisconsin's Edgerton page lists them as unknown. That same page shows last year's hours of 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 31, 2025. Last year was a Friday night, though, and 2025 hours don't carry over automatically. Watch the City of Edgerton website and the Edgerton Reporter for the 2026 notice before you plan the evening or set out a porch bowl.
The second open question is downtown. In 2025, the Edgerton Chamber of Commerce held a Costume Festival on Oct. 25 from 4 to 8 p.m. at The Coffee Depot, 20 S. Main St., with food trucks, live music, and Halloween-themed cocktails. Nothing like it is on the October 2026 calendar as of this writing. If it comes back, it would most likely land on one of the two remaining Saturdays.
After the costumes come off
The calendar doesn't go quiet in November. On Nov. 10, the library holds a free Community Soup Supper from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at 10 Albion St., no registration required. The Edgerton Hospital Auxiliary's Winter Plant Sale runs Nov. 17 to 25 at the hospital. Then on Saturday, Nov. 28, Visit Edgerton lists the Home for the Holidays Lighted Parade followed by a tree lighting. The time and route haven't been posted yet.
Halloween week runs through the same places that carry Edgerton the rest of the year: the hospital on Sherman Road, the library on Albion Street, and the community center rink. The city's trick-or-treat hours are the one piece of Oct. 31 still to be posted.
